Το Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων του Υφυπουργείου Πολιτισμού ανακοινώνει ότι, την Τετάρτη 1η Νοεμβρίου 2023 θα πραγματοποιηθεί εκδήλωση στο Κυπριακό Μουσείο στα πλαίσια της λήξης της περιοδικής έκθεσης «Στον Ίδιο Τόπο» της εικαστικού Κατερίνας Ατταλίδου (https://stonidiotopothecyprusmuseum.com/). Η έκθεση εγκαινιάστηκε στις 18 Μαρτίου 2023 με διάρκεια μέχρι τις 10 Σεπτεμβρίου 2023. Απαντώντας στη θερμή ανταπόκριση του κοινού, το Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων παρέτεινε τη διάρκεια της έκθεσης μέχρι την 1η Νοεμβρίου 2023. Η έκθεση συνοδεύεται από λεύκωμα στην ελληνική και αγγλική το οποίο διατίθεται στο Κατάστημα του Κυπριακού Μουσείου.

Η εκδήλωση θα περιλαμβάνει ξενάγηση στις 18:00 από την Κατερίνα Ατταλίδου και την συνεπιμελήτρια της έκθεσης Ευθυμία Άλφα (Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων), ενώ στο τέλος της ξενάγησης, γύρω στις 19:00, θα μοιραστεί με τους παρευρισκόμενους λίγες σκέψεις για την έκθεση η βραβευμένη συγγραφέας Λουίζα Παπαλοΐζου. Θα ακολουθήσει μουσική με τους Δημήτρη Γιασεμίδη (φλάουτο) και Νατάσα Χατζηανδρέου (μαρίμπα).

Λίγες πληροφορίες για την έκθεση

Μέσα από μια ενότητα 86 υδατογραφιών, τοποθετημένων με ιδιαίτερη επιμέλεια εντός και εκτός προθηκών στους εκθεσιακούς χώρους του Κυπριακού Μουσείου, πλάι στα αντικείμενα με τα οποία σχετίζονται, η ζωγράφος προσεγγίζει τη μόνιμη συλλογή του Κυπριακού Μουσείου με ιδιαίτερη ευαισθησία, καθοδηγούμενη από τους τόπους εύρεσης των αρχαίων εκθεμάτων. Ο τίτλος της έκθεσης, δηλώνει τόσο τη συνύπαρξη των υδατογραφιών της με τα εκθέματα του Κυπριακού Μουσείου, όσο και την παρουσία της κυριολεκτικά ‘στον ίδιο τόπο’ όπου ανασκάφηκαν ή βρέθηκαν τα μοναδικά αυτά ευρήματα.

The Department of Antiquities of the Deputy Ministry of Culture announces that on Wednesday the 1st of November 2023 an event will be organised at the Cyprus Museum marking the closing of the temporary exhibition “In the Same Place” with the works of artist Katerina Attalidou (https://stonidiotopothecyprusmuseum.com/). The exhibition opened on the 18th March 2023 with a duration until 10th September 2023. The duration of the exhibition was extended until the 1st November 2023 in response to the exhibitions’ large attendance and great popularity, with both local and foreign visitors. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication in Greek and English, available at the Cyprus Museum Shop.

The event will include a guided tour of the exhibition by the artist Katerina Attalidou and co-curator Efthymia Alphas of the Department of Antiquities. The tour will conclude at around 19:00 when the awarded writer Louiza Papaloizou will be sharing some of her thoughts on the exhibition. A musical performance will follow by musicians Demetris Yiasemides (flute) and Natasa Hadjiandreou (marimba).

Some information on the exhibition

Through a series of 86 watercolours the artist enters into a dialogue with the Cyprus Museum’s permanent collection. Her approach is emotional and sensitive as she is led by the archaeological exhibits to their places of origin. The exhibition title denotes, amongst other things, the coexistence of Attalidou’s watercolours with the selected exhibits in the Cyprus Museum, as well as her physical presence in the same place in which the archaeological objects were discovered.
